Mercury way back in 1949/50. Did you know that it has now been sold and
converted into a luxury selection of homes? I was just lucky enough to visit

I really enjoyed what I was able to read on this site. So many memories! I
joined the WRNS in January 1969, and while SOME of our experiences were
similar, I don't remember our training being quite so harsh. I thoroughly
enjoyed my time in the Service, I did Part 1 training at Dauntless, Part 2 at
HMS Pembroke, Chatham (Tech Stores WREN), then was drafted to RNAS Culdrose
(HMS Seahawk) in March or April of 1969. Keep up the good work on this site,
it ALMOST feels like being back in the Service.

Hi! David Futher to my previous e-mail of the 28/2/2000, re suppliers of
Naval photographs, the latest info is;- Mr E H Cole, Middlesex, has retired
and no longer supplies prints. As of the 1/2/2000, the RN Museum, Portsmouth,
became the official owners of the Wright & Logan ships collection and

I am creating a web site for lend lease carrier HMS Queen ( USS St
Andrews) and have been to one reunion at Leamington Spa in late 1999 . There
will be another reunion in the year 2000 and I am looking for the first and
second crews on the vessel. Also, the crew of HMAS Australia who went back to

My wife, "Maddie", is the ME sufferer. Diagnosed about three years ago.
Almost housebound, requires a chair to go anywhere and suffers from a whole
list of allergies and aches and pains. These include, Coeliac disease, Hay

Axford's Abode is the most interesting and reliable CFS site I've found.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to have been any news recently. Does anyone
know of support for using antibiotics for CFS. I do have a copy of the
research article "Mycoplasmal infections in CFS" by Garth Nicholson Looking
for any support by the medical profession. My GP is considering it.

Searching for signs and symptoms of CFS. I have been diagnosed with a
respiratory condition referred to as Reactive Airway Dysfunction Syndrome
after a severe chemical exposure. My immunological response to environmental
and chemical triggers has become intolerable and out of control. Fatigue,

14 years ago I took ill and was diagnosed as having ME. 8 years ago. I
consider myself fortunate that I manage to hold down a part-time job and by
pacing myself, watching my diet and taking supplements I have come from being
too tired to "get out of my own way" to now visiting the gym three days a
week. So long as I don't overdue it, I feel heaps better. I believe it can and
does get better!

Your book reviews seem to focus on heavy medical texts which no patient is
ever going to read. Why don't you review 'Coping with Chronic Fatigue' by
Trudie Chalder or 'Better recovery from viral illness' by Darrel Ho-Yen or
'Living with M.E.' by Charles Shepherd- these books are supposed to help
patients and there is a lot that could be said about them

Hi: Looking for some help: saw your Navy page and wondered if you could
tell me where to find detailed records of Royal Navy personnel who served
during this century. My grandfather entered Royal Navy service as a 15 year
old, rank of "Boy, 2nd Class" (!), during WW1, and was invalided out as a
Petty Officer of some kind during the last part of WW2. I am trying to find
out the decorations/awards he received during his years of service. Any ideas?
