The Royal Air Force used this island to refuel their aircraft. An RFA tanker (engines removed) was moored on the north side of the island and was used to refuel the Royal Navy warships. Whilst HMS Daring was being refuelled I snorkeled over some of the reef and found the different types of fish and their colours amazing. I was to fly back here a couple of years later for the refuelling of the VC10 aircraft on its way to Hong Kong.
