Danny the Bosun

Jonah Jones was very squeamish, he was terrified at the sight of blood. He once bought himself a new pair of shoes because had stood in dog poo! It was said he took a shower if he picked his nose.  He even rewashed his eating irons before he used them.

Jonah liked to do the duty of Rum Bosun, probably for the reasons listed above; he probably couldn’t stand the thought of someone handling his tot.  However this day Danny, one of the Gollies, had got to the rum fanny first and Jonah was as usual first in the queue.

By way of conversation Danny said to Jonah “Do you know when I last had a ‘fifty up’, Jonah?” as he started to dish out the rum.

“I’m not particularly interested in your sexual habits, Danny”, said Jonah.

And Danny said “About 5 minutes ago, and I think I forgot to wash my hands afterwards”
